Sharp Century undertook the prefabrication work of the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) thermal insulation modules. The project team accomplished a full range of tasks for the research and development of modular thermal insulation layers, including scheme design, prototype fabrication, product qualification and hoisting simulation in the workshop.
During the equipment installation phase, the team worked in close collaboration with the owner and construction contractor of the Ningde Project, providing comprehensive technical support and on-site guidance throughout the process. On June 8, 2026, the modular thermal insulation for the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) of Unit 5 was successfully hoisted into place. The completion of this milestone marks the successful application of modular and integrated construction technologies in the installation of main system equipment of Hualong One, and offers valuable experience for further promoting modular construction in subsequent Hualong One projects.
