On February 28, the longest underground continuous wall of Gangdu Garden Station of Wuhan Metro New Port Line West Extension Line was successfully hoisted into the trench in 76 hours, and the concrete pouring was successfully completed, marking that the project has officially entered a new stage of main construction.

According to reports, the ground-connected wall is similar to the four walls of a house. As the first step before the excavation of the foundation pit, its function is to support, intercept water and prevent seepage, and provide stable support for subsequent excavation operations. Gangdu Garden Station requires a total of 176 ground-connected walls, the deepest of which is 59.3 meters. The total length of the New Port Line West Extension Line is about 19 kilometers, with a total of 8 stations, including 7 transfer stations. At present, 2 stations have officially entered the main construction stage, and all work areas have entered a tense and orderly construction state.

At present, the construction of the New Port Line West Extension Line has been fully started. It will connect Wuhan Railway Station and Hankou Railway Station, strengthen the rail transit support of the two major external transportation hubs, and further realize the rapid conversion of urban internal and external transportation.

After the completion and opening to traffic, the two major railway stations will be directly connected by subway in the future, and the travel time from Hankou Station to Wuhan Station will be shortened to less than 25 minutes.
